Collecting paper money is a great hobby. Collecting banknotes from Africa is a fine collectors choice. I collect banknotes from Africa, specializing in different dates and signatures. The site features paper money articles and banknote images.    Check out the articles on early post independence Belgian Congo ,and British former colony pound issues. View the Seychelles and East Africa with images of Queen Elizabeth 11, together with beautiful examples of wildlife in the tropics.  African Heads of State are collectible and varied: from Zaire's  Mobutu ,to Hasting Banda of Malawi ,to Kenyatta of Kenya.

Maybe it is a sign of the times that I have included  an article on washed banknote from dealers in Singapore . A few bad eggs continue to sell washed or treated banknotes, especially those from Rhodesia. Besides being dishonest it damages the hobby ,and particularly the investment value of notes, so buyer beware!

I have an updated Price List including countries from Afghanistan to Haiti for notes I do not collect or have duplicates .
